VHF Twin Lead J-Pole
This antenna can be rolled up and stored easily in your "Go" bag, and delivers approximately 3db gain, which is a big improvement over any "rubber-duckie" antenna in the field. It can be suspended from a 10' section of PVC pipe or hung from any convenient location to the operator. The length of coaxial cable should be in multiples of 1/2 wave electrical wavelengths. I have found that RG-58/AU with a stranded center works quite well and is more pliable than standard RG-58/U. Bill Frazier, W7ARC |
