ARES Team Spotlight

(L-R) Marci Cambell, KE6IAU, Jason Chan of City Ambulance of Eureka,  and Bob Colburn, KA6ULG, Past President of the Humboldt Amateur Radio Club accepting the keys to the Club's new Emergency Communications Vehicle.
Don Campbell, KE6HEC says:  "This retired 1991 Ford E-350 ambulance will replace our tired 1970 Winnebago. When outfitted, it will contain the 2M repeater currently housed in the Winnie, as well as HF and 2M packet. HARC is very excited about this acquisition and the increased level of service we will be able to provide to the community. The Winnebago was only marginally road-worthy so we were reluctant to put it into service too often. We are actively seeking grant funding to offset the purchase price and setup costs." 73 Don

COMMENT:  Thanks Don.  We are always happy to hear about radio clubs that take on projects such as this in support of the ARES and other EMCOMM groups.  Please keep us updated on your progress, and I hope that the "new" rig will be ready to bring to EMCOMM 2002 for display at the "EMCOMM 2002 MOBILE UNIT EXPO and Competition"!
